Warning Signs of Suicide:
Know The Signs
K-keeps to themselves – isolation
N-nervous or anxious
O-order- puts affairs in order
W-withdrawn from family and friends
T-talking, thinking or writing excessively about death, dying or suicide
H-helplessness / hopelessness
E-experiences mood changes
I-impulsiveness / takes unnecessary risks
G-guilt– Talks about being a burden to others
N-no reason to live / no goals
S-seeking access to firearms or other lethal means
Take it seriously
Better to overreact and save a life than ignore it and be sorry. A person does not need to have all signs to be at risk.
Encouraging someone to talk about their thoughts on suicide will not increase their risk.
